Should I have a bunch of docker containers and a docker manager or a bunch of LXCs with their own docker containers?

I currently set up things where all my services are in their own LXC/VM and then in a docker container in there. Seemed most secure and I haven't noticed any performance hiccups. That being said, is this the recommended way to do things? or should I just have a bunch in one LXC/VM with a docker container manager? I've seen conflicting advice online.
