InmatesSearcher opt out & remove your info
Opting out of InmatesSearcher takes 4 steps and 5 minutes. It’s free, doesn’t require an account, and doesn’t ask for an ID. InmatesSearcher says it completes removal requests within 45 calendar days.
But—
Pick the wrong option on the opt-out page, and your listing stays up. InmatesSearcher offers two requests, but only one removes your record. Opting out also doesn’t cancel a paid account or change the arrest record itself.

How to opt out of InmatesSearcher step by step
The whole request runs through one form and one email. Along the way, you should see three checkpoints: a “check your email” page, the confirmation email, and a “removal confirmed” page. If one of them doesn’t appear, your request didn’t work.
Step 1. Open the opt-out page
Go to inmatessearcher.com and scroll to the bottom. Click “do not sell or share my personal info” in the footer.
Check the spelling in your address bar: InmatesSearcher has two s’s. Inmatesearcher.com, with one s, is a different site that lists jails, not people.
Step 2. Choose “remove my information”
The “privacy requests” page gives you two options.
“Your privacy choices” only stops the site from selling or sharing your data. It works right away, but your listing stays on the site.
Select “remove my information” instead. This is the option that stops your record from appearing in searches.
Step 3. Enter your details
Complete the “the person in the listing” section with your first and last name, birth date, city, ZIP code, and state. The middle initial is optional, and the last name field shouldn’t include a suffix like Jr. or III.
The full birth date is required. The form says InmatesSearcher keeps these details only to keep your record hidden and never sells or shares them.
Add your email address under “confirming your request,” then click “submit removal request”.
Filing for someone else? Check the box for submitting on their behalf. InmatesSearcher then asks for that person’s signed permission as a PDF.
Step 4. Look for the “check your email” page
After you submit, a page titled “check your email” should appear. That’s your sign the form was received.
The page also notes that nothing is removed until you click the emailed link. InmatesSearcher’s deadlines start that same day: it acknowledges requests within 10 business days and completes them within 45 calendar days.
Step 5. Click the link in the email
Open the email titled “OptOut Request Confirmation” from support@inmatessearcher.com. Ours arrived within a minute.
Click the “click to remove your information” link.
Step 6. Look for the “removal confirmed” page
A page titled “removal confirmed” should open. This is the screen that tells you your request is complete.
InmatesSearcher says it will now stop returning results for you—in new searches, in reports its members already have, and in matching records it adds later. It can’t recall a copy someone already downloaded.
Alternative opt-out methods
Most people can finish the form in a few minutes. If it fails, InmatesSearcher also accepts requests by phone, email, and mail.
Call InmatesSearcher
Call (855) 512-1119. The opt-out page says staff will complete the removal with you over the phone.
Support is available every day from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern Time.
Email InmatesSearcher
Write to support@inmatessearcher.com, the same address the confirmation email comes from. Include the details the form asks for, so the site can match your record. Copy this message and replace the brackets:
To: support@inmatessearcher.com
Subject: Remove my information
Hello, please remove my record from InmatesSearcher and stop returning results for me.
My details are: [first name, middle initial, last name], born [month, day, year], [city, state, ZIP code].
Please reply to let me know when my record is gone.
Best, [your full name]
Keep any reply you get. It’s your proof of the request if you need to contact the site again.
Send a letter
InmatesSearcher’s privacy policy lists this mailing address for privacy requests: Truth Now LLC, ATTN: InmatesSearcher Privacy, 3746 Foothill Blvd #7060, Glendale, CA 91214.
Include the same details as in the email above, and note the date you mailed it.
Use DROP if you live in California
Truth Now LLC, the company behind InmatesSearcher, is a registered California data broker. That means California residents can reach it through DROP, the state’s free Delete Request and Opt-out Platform.
One DROP request goes to every registered data broker at once. Brokers must check for new requests at least every 45 days, so it’s slower than InmatesSearcher’s own form, but it covers far more companies.
Use a data removal service
Arrest and booking records are public, so the same entry can appear on many sites at once. Removing it from InmatesSearcher doesn’t touch any of the others.
Finding each of those sites and filing a request on every one takes time, and new copies can appear later.
Incogni is built for this kind of repeat work.
It files removal requests with 420+ data brokers and people-search sites. Every 60–90 days, it files them again if your data is listed again.
What to expect after opting out
In short:
InmatesSearcher says it completes removal requests within 45 calendar days of submission, and the removal also covers matching records it adds later.
The removal doesn’t change the original arrest or booking record, and it can’t recall copies other people already downloaded.
How long removal takes
InmatesSearcher says it acknowledges requests within 10 business days and completes them within 45 calendar days.
The clock starts on the day you submit the form, not the day you click the email link. So click that link promptly—your 45 days are already running.
How to confirm your record is gone
Search your name on inmatessearcher.com after the 45 days. Your record shouldn’t appear. Use a private browser window, so old results saved from your last visit don’t show.
If you submit the form a second time, the site may show an “already removed” message. That means your earlier request is on file, and there’s nothing more to do.
Will your data return?
It’s less likely than on most sites. InmatesSearcher says the removal also blocks matching records it adds later.
The weak spot is the word “matching.” If you move or your details change, a new record may not match your old request. Search for yourself every few months, and file a new request if your record appears again.
Troubleshooting
In short:
Most InmatesSearcher opt-out problems involve a form that doesn’t respond, a missing confirmation email, or a charge from a paid account.
Each one has a direct fix, and the phone line at (855) 512-1119 works as a backup for the first two.
Nothing happens after you submit the form
If the “check your email” page doesn’t appear, the site didn’t receive your request. The page can also show an error that reads “Your request failed. Please try again later.”
Clear your cookies or switch browsers, then submit the form again. If it still fails, call (855) 512-1119 and complete the request by phone.
The confirmation email never arrived
Look in spam and promotions for a message titled “OptOut Request Confirmation.” Ours arrived within a minute, so a long wait usually means a typo in your email address.
Submit the form again with the correct address. Remember that nothing is removed until you click the link.
You were charged after opting out
Opting out doesn’t cancel a paid InmatesSearcher account. Call (855) 512-1119 to cancel, and save the confirmation you get.
If the site won’t cancel or refund the charge, contact your card issuer and dispute it.
Other sites that have the same data
Truth Now LLC, the company behind InmatesSearcher, also runs CheckSecrets, PeopleSearchUSA, and SealedRecords.
Your InmatesSearcher request only covers InmatesSearcher. If you appear on any of the other three, file a separate request on each one. The steps should look familiar.
FAQ
Is InmatesSearcher an official government site?
No. It’s a private people-search site run by Truth Now LLC, a company in Glendale, California. Its own disclaimer says its reports can’t be used to make decisions about jobs, housing, credit, or insurance.
Does opting out remove my arrest record?
No. It removes your listing from InmatesSearcher only. The original record stays with the jail, court, or agency that created it, and other sites may still show it. To change the record itself, ask the court about sealing or expungement, where your state allows it.
