With 8+ years of design experience, I want to help more people in their careers — but don’t know how to find them

Long story short: I’m a designer with 8+ years of experience. One day I was talking with a friend and realized I’ve actually been through almost every type of company a designer could work at. I’ve worked at design agencies, big companies, startups , and today I own my own design studio . I’ve worked both onsite and remote, all over the world. And I’m pretty good when it comes to interviews and portfolios . I really want to help more young designers today. But the only people I can actually reach are the interns who work for me. I have a strong desire to help them — I think it’s because I know exactly how they feel. I was lost at that point in my life too. I wished someone could’ve been there to give me real, useful advice, not just another round of vague, misleading tips. So yeah, I just don’t know how to find them . Right now the only chance I have to offer advice is during interviews :( Most candidates want to stay in touch even when they don’t end up joining. Some have told me it was the best interview they’d ever had. Hearing that kind of feedback genuinely makes me feel fulfilled. I see so many young designers today being controlled by AI — where AI has become the ceiling of their abilities rather than a tool. They’ve stopped imagining. They let AI decide what’s possible instead of using it to push further. That’s exactly what I want to talk about. How to actually master AI as a designer, not be mastered by it. And beyond that — things I’ve spent years figuring out, like how a designer isn’t just defined by the work they put out. You yourself are a personal brand, a body of work. That mindset alone changes everything. I have a lot to share. I’ve already signed up for ADPList and Topmate, but honestly the traffic and bookings have been pretty slow. So I’m putting this out here directly — if any of this resonates, let’s talk. One last thing — this post isn’t a course pitch or any kind of promotion. I’m genuinely just putting this out there because I don’t know where else to start. If you’ve done something similar, or found a way to connect with and mentor people in your field, I’d really love to hear how you did it. Any advice, experience, or just a honest conversation — I’m all ears.
