Advice on Creative Career
For the past 5 years, I have been working full time at an agency working as a remote designer and freelancing on the side. My income has consistently grown but so have the hours i've been working and the stress levels. 2021: Agency: 98k, Freelance: 45k 2022: Agency: 103K, Freelance 52K 2023: Agency: 108K, Freelance 63K 2024: Agency: 112k, Freelance 62K 2025: Agency 115k, Freelance 71K 2026: Agency 119K, Freelance 115K After rounds of interviews, I now have have a job offer as a creative director for 159k remote and am wondering whether this is a better or worse situation for myself. The pros being that it would be consistent income at a higher yearly salary, and perhaps less hours of overall work. The cons being that it seems like it is less yearly income if i don't take on any freelance. I'd love some advice from Creative Directors on how many hours they work for me to evaluate my current situation. In my naive mind, I would be working similar hours as an individual contributor just a bit more hands off on execution.
