Anthropic’s internal report: 80% of Claude session time is agents waiting on humans
Anthropic published a report on how their own employees work with Claude and the main finding is kind of funny: Claude is waiting on people, not the other way around. Numbers from the report: - 80% of elapsed time in Claude sessions is agents waiting for human input - Median employee spends 20% more time in meetings than a year ago - Employees with 1+ year at the company were 50% more likely to switch departments each month in 2026 vs 2025 - When a new model drops, people immediately start on harder problems instead of doing the same work faster One employee called it "an army of Claudes, with every one asking for my attention." Another said the 20% of the job that was strategic becomes 90% of the job. I see this with the new desktop app too. You run a few sessions, they all finish at different times, and each one needs you to check something. That's why they added sidebar status and recap cards. Anyone else hitting this? How many parallel sessions before it stops being productive for you? Source: fortune.com/2026/10/19/work-botsitting-meetings-army-of-claudes-anthropic
