Anthropic at $2 Trillion vs. 35 SaaS Companies at $948 Billion — Are AI Valuations Getting Out of Control?
This comparison is absolutely insane. According to this graphic: Anthropic valuation: $2 trillion 35 SaaS companies combined: $948 billion Anthropic quarterly revenue: $11.5 billion 35 SaaS companies' combined quarterly revenue: $53.4 billion That means Anthropic is supposedly valued at more than 2x the combined market cap of 35 SaaS companies, despite generating roughly 4.6x less revenue. We're talking about established software giants like Salesforce, Adobe, SAP, ServiceNow, Intuit, and many others. I understand that AI has massive growth potential, but this valuation gap raises some serious questions. Are investors pricing in an entirely new economic revolution, or are we witnessing another massive tech bubble? Genuinely curious what everyone thinks: Can AI companies realistically justify these valuations? Is traditional SaaS being undervalued because of AI disruption fears? Are we entering a new era of software, or repeating the dot-com bubble? What's your take? Is AI really worth this premium?
