What even is ai customer service for hotels? (I will not promote)

My aunt runs a small inn and keeps getting emails from vendors about ai customer service but neither of us really know what it actually means in practice. Like does it replace staff or just help them? What do people actually use it for day to day? Please help me understand... Thank you..
