I built my own QR code generator, because I got tired of overpriced tools that cost almost nothing to run
I'm a full-stack dev, and something about online tools keeps bugging me: they cost almost nothing to run, charge a lot, and are a pain to use. Dynamic QR code generators are one of the worst cases. Forwarding a scan costs a fraction of a cent per thousand scans. The big names still charge $20+/month for limited codes and scans. Many of their fake "free" codes are actually short links on their servers, and they switch them off once your trial ends. By then the code is already printed on your menus and business cards. So I built QRPine ( qrpine.com ), the tool I wanted myself: - Free codes can't expire. The link is inside the code itself. - No account, no ads, no watermark. - It checks contrast before you print. - One paid plan, $4/month or $36/year, if you need to change where a code points after printing. It covers unlimited codes and scans, smart redirects, analytics, with no add-ons or scan tiers. If you cancel, your codes keep opening the last link you set. Disclosure: I made it.
