I'm a med student and I built an open-source pocket radio lab: Raspberry Pi + RTL-SDR, controlled from your phone
I study medicine, but I've always loved building things. My side project is SDR-Kit: it turns a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and a cheap radio dongle into a spectrum analyzer, radio and signal decoder that you use from your phone's browser. Things I cared about: • One-command install and updates that roll back on their own if something breaks. • Works offline, no accounts, no telemetry. • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish): panel, installer and CLI. • Tests and CI on every change, including an end-to-end test that decodes real pager and APRS signals in demo mode. Repo: github.com/romartak/sdrkit (MIT) I'd love feedback on the code, the docs or the UX. Stars help a lot if you find it interesting. ⭐
