From 22 to 67 providers: an update to my open-source cloud IP range dataset
I shared an early version of this project here back in February, when it covered 22 providers. A few people asked what made it different from the other IP range lists, and there were good questions about how safely the output could be used I've continued working on it, and the dataset now covers 67 providers across cloud infrastructure, CDNs, SaaS services, crawlers, and other networks. The most useful additions beyond the provider count: Daily CIDR change tracking, including added and removed ranges Normalized JSON/CSV and provider-specific TXT files Merged IPv4/IPv6 CIDR lists Region/service breakdowns where supported by the source Generated configurations for Nginx, nftables, iptables, UFW, HAProxy, Apache, and Caddy Python IP lookup and Go/JavaScript client libraries One thing I want to emphasize: these lists are inputs for network controls, not security boundaries on their own. An IP being associated with a cloud provider doesn't establish that the traffic is trustworthy. The project is CC0-licensed, and the data can be consumed directly without using a hosted service. GitHub: github.com/rezmoss/cloud-provider-ip-addresses Im the maintainer. For people who use provider IP ranges in production, what's more important to you: the freshness of the data, service-level accuracy, or the ability to detect and roll back a problematic change?
