Hello this my random Concept: A "Red Box" Policy Gate to fix AI over-filtering in fiction writing (PG-13 default + 18+ opt-in)
Hey everyone, I've been watching the recent backlash against AI safety filters (like the V4.1 Flash silent switch and how strict models have gotten for creative writing). The problem is obvious: filters rely on keywords. A PG-13 story with a villain saying "I'll kill you," or a fantasy war with skeleton armies, gets flagged as a real-world threat. Writers get frustrated, companies get backlash, and nobody wins. I came up with a concept to fix this: The Red Box Gate. PG-13 Default (Creative Freedom) If a story touches on sensitive themes (death, violence, trauma), a Red Box appears. The user clicks it. It opens the Terms & Policy. It explains that the content is fictional, the user is responsible for their own writing, and the company isn't liable for any backlash or hate. The user acknowledges it, and continues writing. No silent overrides. No false positives. Sexual Content (Hard Block in PG) If a user tries to write sexual content in PG mode, the AI warns them: "Not allowed in PG mode." If they keep pushing, the Red Box appears as the final gate, forcing them to re-read the policy. 18+ Adult Mode (Opt-In for the Company) For adult writers, this could be expanded into an age-gated opt-in. The AI gives one extra warning, asks for age verification, and then the Red Box appears with a full adult content policy (fiction, adults only, full user liability). The company stays protected; adults get their space. Medical Support (Safety Net) If a story deals with heavy real-world themes (self-harm, severe depression), the bottom of the Red Box automatically provides real-world mental health resources and crisis hotlines. It doesn't just protect the company; it tries to help the user. Just my random concept ¯\(ツ)/¯
