The "AI Babysitter": Does DeepSeek treat us with more respect than ChatGPT & Co.?

Have you guys noticed this with the new Chinese models, especially DeepSeek-V4? Whenever you ask American models like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini a slightly sensitive or specific question—whether it's about mild health symptoms, historical conflicts, or complex legal topics—the safety guardrails immediately slam shut. You instantly get the moral finger-wagging: "I am not a doctor...", "Please consult a professional...", or a flat-out refusal. US models often act like an overprotective digital babysitter that treats the user like a child. DeepSeek takes a completely different approach. To be clear: I’m not talking about which model is "smarter" or better at logic. This is purely about user autonomy and maturity. When you ask DeepSeek-V4 a question, you just get the raw facts. Direct, pragmatic, and without the annoying lectures or standardized disclaimers. The model seems to assume that the person behind the screen is an adult who can process information responsibly. Every time ChatGPT tries to educate me on morals, I feel patronized—DeepSeek just delivers the tool. Has anyone else noticed this? Do you also feel like DeepSeek treats you as a much more mature and independent user compared to the US models?
