Mark Zuckerberg spotted using his personal phone and people have been left surprised with which model he's using
Mark Zuckerberg has access to some of the most advanced technology in the world, but his choice of personal phone has left people surprised.
The Meta CEO was recently spotted using an Android smartphone that is a few generations old during a TODAY interview, where he pulled out the gadget to show off Agrippa.
It seems even billionaires don’t necessarily feel the need to upgrade their phones every year.
Even when they’re showing off the newest tech that AI has to offer.
Zuckerberg pulled out an older phone during the interview
Zuck’s gadget of choice shocked people when he was showing off Meta’s new AI assistant Agrippa during his TODAY interview, giving viewers a glimpse of the smartphone he apparently uses personally.
Rather than reaching for one of the newest smartphones available, Mark Zuckerberg was holding Samsung’s 2024 flagship, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra was already one of the most capable Android phones on the market when it launched, with a huge display, a built-in S Pen, a powerful camera system and high-end hardware.

But by 2026, Samsung has released newer Galaxy flagships, making Zuckerberg’s choice a little more unexpected.
It is particularly funny considering just how much technology Zuckerberg has access to through his work at Meta.
He’s surrounded by AI, smart glasses and other cutting-edge gadgets, yet his personal phone apparently isn’t something he feels the need to constantly replace.

New Galaxy phones have come and gone
Samsung has continued releasing new Galaxy smartphones since the S24 Ultra arrived.
For anyone who wants the latest model, there have been plenty of opportunities to upgrade since Zuckerberg’s phone first hit the market.
Apparently, he isn’t interested, and honestly, there is a pretty good argument for his approach.

For most people, a flagship smartphone from a couple of years ago can still handle pretty much everything they need.
Browsing, messaging, taking photos, watching videos and running demanding apps don’t suddenly become impossible when a newer model launches.
The improvements between generations can also be fairly incremental, particularly if you already own a high-end device, so while Zuckerberg could presumably get his hands on practically any smartphone he wanted, his Galaxy S24 Ultra is apparently still doing the job.
Even Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t need the latest phone
The sighting is a surprisingly relatable moment from someone who is about as far removed from the average smartphone buyer as you can get.
Zuckerberg is one of the world’s wealthiest people and runs one of the biggest technology companies on the planet, but he apparently hasn’t been persuaded that he needs to replace his phone every time Samsung launches another flagship.
And there’s something quite refreshing about that.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra was expensive and seriously capable when it launched, so if it still works perfectly well, there isn’t necessarily much reason to replace it.
Zuckerberg showing it off during a TODAY interview may have accidentally demonstrated a very simple smartphone rule: sometimes the best upgrade is no upgrade at all.
1-0 to Team Android.
