Investing - Theory, News & General • Re: DFA [Dimensional Fund Advisors] (the firm) puts itself up for sale

If you hold DFA ETF funds, you may see the same confusing market value info that I saw today in my Schwab account.

(Basically, my account shows my accurate cost basis for the DFA fund, DFAT, but a market value of $0.00.)

I had the same experience with DFA holdings at Schwab today - the number of shares held dropped to zero, so value dropped to zero. Schwab said they were getting a lot of calls about it today (and the phone rep I talked to was reading to me an alert he got at 5 am in the morning to explain it).

Apparently related to a restructuring they are doing of their fund structure and it seems it was also disclosed over the past several months. But I don't understand why they couldn't have added a message or alert to DFA fund holders today that says "this will temporarily show zero until Monday. "
