S&P 500 Futures Climb in Premarket Trading; Corteva, Sun Life Financial Lag

With U.S. stock markets set to open in two hours, Accenture PLC Cl A (ACN) was up 17.3% in pre-market trading, and Vicor Corp. (VICR) was up 11.9%.

Essex Property Trust Inc. (ESS), Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (CTSH), and Sun Communities Inc. (SUI) were all posting gains of at least 8%. In early trading, Corteva Inc. (CTVA) and Sun Life Financial Inc. (SLF) had posted declines, falling 79.6% and 10.2%, respectively.

Meanwhile S&P 500 futures were up 0.18%, with futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.02%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures were up 1.36%.

In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were up 2.63%, and gold futures were up 0.25%. Bitcoin was up 0.25% to $83,770.

The 10-Year Treasury yield climbed to 5.309%.

In the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow were down 0.25% and 0.86%, respectively. In Asia overnight, Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index was up 3.30%.

In afternoon trading, stocks in Europe are down, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.67% and the FTSE 100 Index falling 1.19% from the previous close.
