Wind and Limits
I worked overtime today, and went for a run in the evening. According to Zepp's plan, today's run was 11km. The last time I ran more than 10km was back in August.
Out the door, walk a stretch, stretch both arms out, twist the waist, loosen the ankles — getting ready for a long run. Music mixed with the voices of passersby around my ears; a lot of people come to the park for a walk, and I don't like crowds. I started running. While running, my head was very clear, and I was surprised at how clear-headed I was. I kept watching my body change: saw sweat run down my arms, felt the soreness in my knees shift, felt my breathing go from steady to hurried and from hurried back to steady. I didn't think much while running; I was just running. At 8km I thought that this was all I ran last time, and everything after this was a new record. As the end got closer I started checking my watch constantly, wanting to know how far the finish still was. I began to tire, I wanted to stop, but my body didn't stop. By the end there was only one goal left — finish the 11km.
