Investing - Theory, News & General • Just retired from public service, now what?

I just retired from a distinguished career in education in California. I haven't saved anything for retirement, but get a 7 figure a year pension starting next month. I'm new to investing, and have a PhD in Comparative and International Education. I'm fairly young, with probably 30 more good years left.
Any advice?
