I take notes by hand on an iPad while I work on a Mac. Nothing kept me on the page, so I built this.

Every setup I tried leaked at one joint. Sidecar is a second display, not a notebook. Freeform is hold, Paste, Allow Paste for every single screenshot, then AirDrop on the way back. GoodNotes on the Mac is a viewer. and when I got stuck mid-thought I had to put the pen down, open a chat app, type the question, and by the time I came back the thought was gone. So I built Pen Friend. A handwriting notebook for iPad plus a small menu bar app on the Mac: Take a screenshot on the Mac, it lands on the open iPad page a second later Write around it, zoom, add pages Write a question and pause, the answer is written beside it in ink (in ur actual screen) One flick sends the whole page back to the Mac clipboard, pictures included, paste anywhere It is free, and no login. Notes stay in your own iCloud. The AI stays off until you say yes. Both apps are in App Store review right now. Link when it lands.
