I built an app for learning a language by listening to whole books — with the screen off

I'm the founder of Redible . I wanted to learn Portuguese on my walks — from a real book, without taking my phone out of my pocket. I couldn't find anything that did that, so I built it. Most reading apps (LingQ, Readlang, Beelinguapp) assume you're looking at the screen and tapping words. Redible is built so that listening is as comfortable as reading — and all of it works with your phone in your pocket: - Every sentence of a real book is narrated in a natural voice and synced with the text. - Sandwich mode: original → your language → original, sentence by sentence. - Hints and translations are spoken, not just shown. - Hands-free AI questions: ask out loud ("what did she just say?", "what does X mean?"), hear the answer, and the book continues. - Books are in the original language, not bilingual editions; translation only when you ask. 7 languages (EN, FR, DE, IT, PT, RU, ES), a curated library of complete books, iPhone/iPad/Android, free to start. Not there yet: importing your own books, word tracking/flashcards. I'd love honest feedback from people who learn with comprehensible input — what would make you switch from reading-first apps?
