I will not promote I think most AI lead tools are optimizing the wrong thing
Lately I’ve been realizing that a lot of lead discovery / customer discovery tools are solving the wrong problem. They try to help you find more signals. But if you’re a founder who just launched a product, that’s usually not what you need. You don’t need 100 “maybe” leads. You need 3–5 people who are actually worth contacting right now. That shift changed how I’m designing OPBO. Instead of treating every post/comment/thread as a signal, I’m starting to think of the real unit as: person + problem + context + timing + product fit That leads to a very different architecture: Product → Demand Model → Discovery → Cheap Filter → JEV #1 → Context Enrichment → JEV #2 → Deep LLM → Commercial Opportunity → Outcome Learning → Lookalike The goal is not: find more posts assign a score dump results into a dashboard The goal is: understand the product model who probably has this problem find relevant expressions of that problem decide what’s noise deepen context only when needed recommend only a few clear opportunities learn from actual outcomes (reply / trial / paid / rejected) So the real product becomes: not search but judgment I’m curious if others have felt the same pain. If you’ve tried using X / Reddit / communities to find early users: what was the noisiest part? what would make a tool like this actually useful?
