Amazon Gives Sellers 12 Months of AI Software Quick Plus For Free

Amazon is giving the merchants that sell goods on Amazon’s site 12 free months of Quick Plus, an AWS AI workplace assistant, Amazon announced Wednesday at its annual conference for sellers, Amazon Accelerate. Quick Plus normally costs users $20 a month.

Amazon is also letting sellers integrate Seller Assistant, another AI assistant which helps merchants understand their Amazon sales data, with Quick and Anthropic’s Claude.

The offer is the latest sign of the freebies that technology firms, including Amazon, have increasingly been offering to get customers to try their new AI products, The Information reported earlier this week. Amazon’s offering is notable because both Quick and Seller Assistant use Claude models under the hood, which will be more expensive for Amazon to run when a new pricing arrangement between the firms goes into effect next year.

“If we can put the power of these tools in the hands of our sellers, and it builds trust, and they can build their business and grow, then we win,” said Mary Beth Westmoreland, a vice president of worldwide selling partner experience at Amazon in an interview. “That’s the investment that we’re making.”

Westmoreland said that Amazon Seller Assistant can switch to Haiku, a cheaper Anthropic model, and using Amazon’s own Nova models when appropriate.

Amazon also announced the ability for its Seller Assistant to answer more complicated questions, like seeing how competitors are pricing their products, and take actions autonomously on the behalf of sellers. Eric Burns, Anthropic’s field CTO, came on stage at Amazon Accelerate to talk about the companies’ partnership.
