Made a thing that turns a YouTube channel's thumbnail style into an editable template (runs in Claude Code / Codex / etc.)

Disclosure first: I work at IMG.LY, and this runs on CoDesign, the free MCP server we make for coding agents. Most YouTube channels have a thumbnail look they reuse every week. They have a similar layout, same fonts, new face, and new text. I found that some timed creating one thumbnail at 10 to 15 minutes, and they were making 8 to 10 a week. I tried getting image models to do it for them, but design drift still happens occassionaly and it feels like it could have been faster with just a small touch-up. Consistency is also a problem sometimes, even though newer models have gotten better. So I built a skill that makes an editable template instead. You give it your channel URL (or a few reference images, or just describe what you want) and It pulls your last 10 thumbnails, works out the style and rebuilds it as real layers. For the next video you only swap what goes in those. It also writes a short styleguide, and the whole thing opens in a browser editor (standalone editor coming soon) if you'd rather move stuff around yourself. 2 min demo: youtu.be/16We2v9vaAA Caveats: the background and cutout images still come from an image model, so you need either a free IMG.LY account (it comes with credits) or your own setup. It's also new, so unusual thumbnail styles will probably trip it up. If you post videos regularly, do you stick to one layout or start fresh every time? I'd like to know if this is a real problem or one I made up. If you want to try it: github.com/imgly/codesign
