In my experience, you get what you pay for with these 'free' FAs. At some point, they will push their wares, but its all low pressure (annuities, fixed income, wealth mgmt, etc). The advice is basic, but they excel with behind the scene processing, much better than calling the 800 CS number. For example, parents had company stock that didn't transfer. The FA found it sitting in a 'clearing house' and took care of it for them.
