I’m building a free font comparison tool — would this actually be useful to you?

Hi everyone, I’m currently building a free web-based font comparison tool and wanted to get some feedback from you before I go too far with it. The idea is to make it easier to compare Google Fonts side by side and see how different fonts actually look with the same content. One feature I’m experimenting with is an overlay comparison — you can place two fonts on top of each other at around 50% opacity, then hover/select one to see it at 100%. The idea is to make subtle differences in letter shapes, spacing, height, etc. easier to notice. I’m also planning filters such as writing system, language and available font sizes/weights. The tool would be completely free to use. Before I spend too much time building it, I’d love to hear from people who actually work with typography and UI/UX: Would something like this genuinely be useful in your workflow? And if you currently compare fonts, how do you normally do it? Also, is there anything you’d want a font comparison tool to do that existing tools don’t do well? I’m not sharing a link because I’m mainly looking for feedback on the idea at this stage. Thanks!
