I hope that's the case. I have blackrock lifepath in my 457b so I'm hoping they don't add private equity/private credit to their whole lineup.
Since it’s a tax advantaged account you should be able to escape tax free so it’s not an issue since you are knowledgeable to run a 3-4 fund portfolio.

true, i do that (sans bonds) in my Roth 457b. But I have to keep track of the holdings periodically in the target date fund (unless they make an announcement of any such changes)
