My World Tap to Talk Demo

I keep waiting for a perfect moment to record a demo, but that moment keeps failing to arrive. Every non-exhausted hour of my life is fully accounted for, so here is a delirious demo video of me mumbling through a feature list. I did hit some bugs here, but they were largely because this is the device I do experiments on so it didn’t have an empty state. I fixed them all last night, but the iPad and my phone were both dead (went to a child’s birthday party so its as a high use day) after I did my testing so I didn’t re-record a video. So, here’s a view of it warts and all.

My fake heart attack has slowed things down a bit as I promised my wife I would actually sleep and I’ve gone clean from Diet Coke. While I feel better, I am getting much less done. Again, I made most of this while driving because it’s the only time I have/had. My son no longer goes to the clinic where I built all the basic pieces of this so that’s been a productivity hit. I’m continuously polishing because I’ve been told I have to wait for an approval so I keep adding more things to make it better. My end vision for this is that if your kid has autism, this is just the thing you buy and it does everything you need for a price that’s much, much lower than what you can get through insurance.

After the paywall, there’s another view of my son’s app which has more stuff, and shows you what’s there after a purchase is made. Again, the thing you may not appreciate from the board above is that if you register an account and make a purchase, all of the images will look like you and your family. There’s also a whole parent companion app that I don’t get into at all. The video ends dramatically when my iPhone battery dies.

Through a combination of this app and at home ABA my son is now just starting to speak to my wife and I in full sentences. So I’ve already won at life even if this flops.
