People who did a Master’s in Digital Media / New Media / Digital Direction, looking for some advice

Hi! I’m looking at master’s programmes abroad and would love to hear from people who’ve done something in digital media, new media, digital direction, interactive media, computer arts, design & technology, immersive media, etc. I studied Communication Design and have worked across film and animation, but I’m now looking to broaden my practice beyond those formats and become more industry-ready. I’m interested in bringing emerging technology into immersive media and different forms of storytelling and I want to understand the technology well enough to actually direct where it can take a story rather than just learning whatever tool happens to be new that year. For people who’ve done these kinds of degrees, what are you doing now and did the degree actually help you get there? Did you get useful industry connections, collaborations or opportunities through it? I’ll be an international student, so I’d also really appreciate course recommendations if there are programmes you think are genuinely worth looking into. Just trying to figure out what these degrees actually lead to before I commit
