U.S. Markets Finished Mixed Friday As Strategy Led, AST SpaceMobile Lagged

U.S. stock indexes finished mixed Friday with the NASDAQ Composite Index gaining 0.39%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 Index gained 0.17%, and the Dow fell 0.18%.

The Russell 2000 Index, which focuses on small-cap stocks, dropped 0.52%, and the Cboe Volatility Index was down 3.89%.

Among companies with at least $10 billion in market value, Strategy Inc. (MSTR), was the biggest leader during the session, jumping 16.39%, and Pershing Square Inc. (PS) jumped 13.58%. Coinbase Global Inc. (COIN) rounded out the top three leaders on Friday, with shares surging 11.66%.

AST SpaceMobile Inc. (ASTS) posted the largest decline, falling 6.68%, followed by Nucor Corp. (NUE) shares, which fell 6.29%. Shares of Symbotic Inc. (SYM) declined 6.10%.

In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were down 0.57%, while gold futures were up 0.38%. Bitcoin was down 0.29% to $80,962.

The 10-Year Treasury yield climbed to 5.007%.

Stock indexes in Asia were up, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index up 1.38% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index rising 0.94%.

In Europe, indexes fell, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 1.11% and the FTSE 100 Index dropping 1.45% from the previous close.
