AI Job Fears Grow, Tech Leaders Say Reskilling Can’t Wait

Good morning. As business leaders wrestle with their AI implementations, a new report from Pew Research Center illuminates how ordinary citizens feel about the technology.

In 34 of 37 countries Pew surveyed, people are more likely to believe AI will lead to fewer jobs than to more jobs. That sentiment runs highest in wealthier nations. In the U.S., roughly seven-in-ten adults or more say AI will cause job losses over the next 20 years—a seven-point jump in two years.

Pew drew its data from a survey of 42,151 people across 36 countries conducted between Feb. 8 and May 13, along with two U.S.-focused surveys in February and June.
