S&P 500 Futures Rise in Premarket Trading; Xenon Pharmaceuticals, Icon PLC Lag

With U.S. stock markets set to open in two hours, OceanaGold Corp. (OGC) was up 4.6% in pre-market trading, and Krystal Biotech Inc. (KRYS) was up 4.6%.

Atmos Energy Corp. (ATO), Core & Main Inc. (CNM), and BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. (BMNR) were all posting gains of at least 3%. In early trading, Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. (XENE) and Icon PLC (ICLR) had posted declines, falling 25.9% and 5.4%, respectively.

Meanwhile S&P 500 futures were up 0.07%, with futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.09%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures were down 3.74%.

In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were down 1.26%, while gold futures were up 0.48%. Bitcoin rose 1.93% to $78,012.

The 10-Year Treasury yield climbed to 4.966%.

In the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow were up 1.14% and 0.61%, respectively. Stocks in Asia were up overnight, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index up 1.38% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index rising 0.94%.

In afternoon trading, stocks in Europe are down, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 0.58% and the FTSE 100 Index falling 0.85% from the previous close.
