Investing - Theory, News & General • For high fixed income portfolio, do you use more corporate bonds

A recent email from my mom advisor prompted me to examine my mom's portfolio. I notice that her 30/70 stock/bond portfolio had mostly short term investment grade corporate bonds. I suspect this reflect the bias of the advisor. I am curious if those with high fixed income often go with corporate bonds to get a bit more return from an otherwise conservative portfolio.

Personally, I tend to edge toward treasury, but I also wouldn't be holding so much fixed income.
