Codex is basically unusable for Blender / 3ds Max automation

I’m trying to use Codex to work with desktop applications such as Blender and 3ds Max, but it seems unable to properly detect or interact with them. The problem is very basic: Codex does not reliably see that Blender or 3ds Max is open. It cannot interact with the application UI. It cannot perform even the simplest task, such as creating a cube in Blender. It does not seem to understand the current state of the application. It cannot execute a normal workflow inside Blender or 3ds Max without me manually doing almost everything. For example, I ask it to: “Open Blender and create a cube.” This should be one of the simplest possible tests, but Codex cannot complete it. What I expected was something closer to an AI computer-use agent that can see the application, understand its interface, click buttons, use menus, execute Python commands, and verify the result. Right now, it feels like Codex can work with code and files, but not with professional desktop software in any meaningful way. Has anyone managed to make Codex work reliably with Blender or 3ds Max? Maybe through MCP, Blender Python API, a plugin, or some other integration? I’d especially like to know if there is a way to give Codex actual access to the application state instead of just having it generate instructions for me. Tell me what to do.
