Investing - Theory, News & General • Another Treasury Direct - ID.me Question

[Moved here - mod Kendall]

I just set up my TD account to use ID.me. I already have ID.me in use for IRS, SS and Medicare. But I noticed a quirk with the TD process and am wondering whether this is unnecessary security risk:

I log onto TD via ID.me. Then I log off. Then I go to the ID.me website and try to login. I give it my e-mail address and - poof - I am logged in. No password, no text to my phone.

I logged out of the ID.me account and used ID.me to log onto the IRS site. When I logged off of the IRS site and went back to the ID.me, it did correctly go through the e-mail address, password and text authentication.

Seems a bit risky to leave the ID.me site so accessible after use with Treasury Direct. I mean, could anybody that knows my e-mail address then get into the ID.me account and start logging into all of the linked accounts? I suppose the work-around is to simply go back into ID.me and log off every time I use it to access TD.
