Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze team up for wild play vs. Panthers

The Chicago Bears are off and running in the 2026 season, and Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze already have a play for the season highlight reel.

Odunze, who was questionable for Sunday’s game, made sure that everyone knew just how healthy he was in the first quarter, hauling in a staggering 47-yard reception to set the Bears up in the red zone.

On the play, Williams was flushed to the right side of the field, but as Bears fans are well aware, the quarterback can absolutely throw on the run, and he absolutely did, lofting a gorgeous pass to Odunze up the right side of the field.

To his credit, Odunze went up and made a staggering catch, pinning the ball against a Carolina defender’s helmet to secure the first down for the Bears.

The Bears would ultimately score to cap off the drive, with D’Andre Swift punching in a rushing touchdown to give Chicago a 14-7 lead.

Williams’ first touchdown of the season also occurred earlier in the game, with the quarterback rushing in on a third down play to knot things up.
