Last Friday night, our team hosted a lit event at the US Open 🎾

we gathered a group of enterprise and startup AI leaders + founders together to drink, talk about AI and document parsing, and watch tennis until 2am.

we've got to do this every week and bring the energy back to SF. stay tuned for more events!!

(I say 'we' in third-person, I had to stay back because I got covid 😭)

@llama_index hosted an executive suite at the US Open in NYC on Friday night and we shared the night session with AI Leaders building some of the most document-intensive AI apps 🎾

Our team got to watch Venus and Serena play doubles together (surreal to see the sisters out there!), plus Ben Shelton vs Denis Shapovalov.

Former USA top 50 player Mackenzie McDonald also stopped by our suite and spent time to chat with the team and everyone who came out. He said two things that map surprisingly well to building a company:

🐹 It's a hamster wheel. You have to keep proving yourself, and people forget what you did last time out. Doesn't matter how good the last result was.

😰 A lot of it is the mental game. Nobody sees the grit that goes into the smaller tournaments - he mentioned flying into a pretty remote part of China a few weeks ago for one.

Both of those hit close to home: you have to keep building and scaling faster, and staying relevant in a fast-changing landscape. Most of what we do here is not just what we put out on socials, but the massive amount of work nobody knows happened.
