Exclusive: Salesforce to Drop ‘Agentforce’ Branding From Some Products

Salesforce, ahead of its annual Dreamforce customer conference next week, is removing the word “Agentforce” from the names of some of its top products, according to two people with direct knowledge of the matter.
The reversal comes after Salesforce made Agentforce a centerpiece of its product sales and marketing strategy since launching it in late 2024, with CEO Marc Benioff previously suggesting that Salesforce might rebrand its official name as Agentforce.
Salesforce added “Agentforce” to the names of around two dozen products last October. This week, however, Salesforce on its website reverted to the names it previously used for those products, according to the Internet Archive.
In one example of the changes, Salesforce’s flagship sales management product, which was rebranded from Sales Cloud to Agentforce Sales last fall, is now once again called Sales Cloud.
It isn’t clear what prompted Salesforce to make the branding changes, and spokespeople didn’t respond to requests for comment. After a sluggish start, Agentforce’s annual revenue—the value of contracts over the next 12 months—grew more than 240% to more than $1.5 billion in Salesforce’s July quarter compared to last year.
Salesforce is preserving the Agentforce name for the Agentforce 360 product itself, the people said.
Salesforce is also changing the name of Headless 360 Platform, a set of tools that customers use to build and customize applications and agents, reverting to its earlier name, Salesforce Platform, said the people.
Headless 360 refers to a set of tools Salesforce unveiled in April that make it easier for customers to use external AI agents from Anthropic and other providers to access their data within Salesforce applications.
