Microsoft Chief Communications Officer Shaw to Depart

Microsoft chief communications officer Frank Shaw will leave the company at the end of this year, he announced in a LinkedIn post Friday.

Shaw has spent more than 28 years at the company, including 17 years overseeing its communications. During that time, he steered the company’s public messaging through its $26 billion LinkedIn acquisition, its $69 billion deal to buy Activision, and its often-tumultuous relationship with OpenAI.

Shaw will remain at the company through December, he said, without disclosing whether he plans to take on another role elsewhere. His is the latest in a string of senior executive departures from Microsoft this year, including former executive vice president of Windows and Office Rajesh Jha, former security chief Charlie Bell, and former Xbox CEO Phil Spencer.
