Tried for months to fully replace Spotify with a self-hosted setup — always end up crawling back. Anyone actually pulled this off?

I know there are a ton of posts on this already, and I've tried a bunch of approaches, but at the end of the day I always end up back on Spotify because it just works . I've been at this for months now trying to build my own self-hosted replacement. Current stack: Navidrome – music server Symfonium – Android client Feishin – Windows client Lidarr – full album checking/management slskd , SABnzbd , qBittorrent – download clients Aurral – rolling playlists / weekly discovery, using slskd as the download backend and Navidrome as the destination, with Last.fm/ListenBrainz wired in Audiomuse AI – generates playlists, synced over to Navidrome Problems I keep running into: Aurral regularly grabs the wrong tracks from slskd, or just hangs mid-download Audiomuse AI is okay, but the playlists it generates aren't consistently good What I actually want is pretty simple: one app where I can generate playlists, get recommendations, and see "similar to this" based on my listening history — basically just the normal streaming-app listening experience, minus Spotify. Juggling this many separate services just to replicate that basic experience is getting exhausting. Has anyone here actually managed to fully move off Spotify/Apple Music with a self-hosted setup that feels complete ? Not looking for "it's 90% there" — I mean genuinely replaced it and stuck with it. If so, I'd love to hear what your stack looks like!
