SpaceX Signs Another Compute Deal With New Customer

SpaceX has signed another cloud computing rental deal to an identified customer that will pay it about $1.11 billion per month starting on Dec. 1, the company’s chief financial officer, Bret Johnsen, said in an interview at Goldman Sachs’ Communacopia + Technology conference on Thursday.

The deal should kick in just in time to contribute to SpaceX’s pursuit of its previously stated target that it would generate $100 billion in annualized revenue by the end of the year, which Johnsen outlined on the company’s August earnings call. Johnsen said SpaceX executives “believe we’re on track” to hit that goal, adding that they “have even more conviction now” after signing the latest agreement. The latest deal, like “almost all” of SpaceX’s agreements to provide computing capacity to customers, spans roughly six months, Johnsen added.

The announcement comes after SpaceX said in a June regulatory filing that it had inked a deal to rent its compute capacity to Google for $920 million per month. In May, the company announced a deal to rent capacity to Anthropic.
