RCMP still can't sell used patrol cars, though it's costing them millions

The RCMP has lost its latest bid to recycle used patrol cars instead of destroying them, costing the force millions of dollars.

The police force was ordered in early 2021 to stop selling its decommissioned vehicles after a Nova Scotia gunman restored a used patrol car to resemble an actual RCMP cruiser. The gunman, who disguised himself as a Mountie, murdered 22 people in the province over 13 hours in April 2020 while driving the fake patrol car.
