True Sports, an Ontario-based hockey equipment manufacturer, registered to lobby the federal government days after cross-border trade talks fell apart and the U.S. imposed 50 per cent tariffs on a range of Canadian products.

On Aug. 22 at midnight, those penalties were applied to $27.6 billion worth of Canadian goods including dairy and honey, certain wood products and hockey equipment.
