Mamatha Chamarthi's Lumiom seeks $3M to put enterprise AI on the P&L

Mamatha Chamarthi is seeking up to $3 million for Lumiom, the industrial enterprise AI business she founded this year. Lumiom's founder biography identifies her as founder and CEO and says she previously led software business growth at Stellantis. A Metis Strategy profile identifies her as a former CIO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

A Form D filed with the SEC on September 8 reports that Lumiom has sold $100,000 of the offering to one investor. The first sale occurred on September 4. The remaining $2.9 million has yet to be sold, making the $3 million figure an offering target rather than a completed round.

Lumiom is selling a SAFE under the SEC's Rule 506(b) exemption. The filing does not identify the investor or disclose a valuation or other SAFE terms. It reports no commissions or finder fees. No prior institutional financing was identified in the research for this article.

The filing lists Chamarthi as president, executive officer and director, and no other founder was identified in the sources reviewed. Lumiom is based in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, and was incorporated in Delaware in 2026.

From the Chrysler integration to a founder's desk

Chamarthi has spent three decades working through the organizational problems that Lumiom now proposes to solve for customers.

She entered the US auto industry as a programmer at Chrysler in 1996. In an interview about her career, Chamarthi described working through the DaimlerChrysler integration. She later held technology leadership roles at Consumers Energy, TRW and ZF Friedrichshafen.

At ZF, Chamarthi's digital mandate covered products, manufacturing, supply chains and internal processes.

Chamarthi later served as CIO and chief digital officer at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles before leading software business growth at Stellantis. Lumiom's founder biography says she scaled a $23 billion global software and data business across 14 Stellantis brands. That figure is Lumiom's characterization of her record and has not been independently audited.

A Goodyear executive biography says Chamarthi joined the tire maker in 2024 as senior vice president and chief digital officer, overseeing its digital businesses and IT function. The exact date of her departure from Goodyear is not publicly established.

Her education includes an M.A. in English from Osmania University, an M.S. in computer science and software engineering from Oakland University, and an MBA from Northwestern University. A profile of her Stellantis career provides additional context on her move from corporate technology leadership into a software P&L role.

Lumiom's founder profile lists Chamarthi's founder and CEO role from January 2026. The page describes her thesis in one line: "Transformation is not PowerPoint. It is operational. It is financial. It is behavioral."

Making AI spending answer to the CFO

Lumiom is aimed at industrial businesses trying to convert AI programs into measurable savings, revenue gains and operating improvements. Chamarthi is betting that buyers will direct budgets toward projects that can demonstrate a financial result.

Lumiom calls its approach the "Harvest-to-Invest" flywheel. Lumiom says its forensic diagnostic is intended to identify $30 million to $80 million in addressable operational value before an AI model is deployed. The company has not published an independently validated customer result demonstrating savings within that range. Savings captured in an initial phase are then supposed to finance later modernization work.

The $30 million to $80 million estimate is Lumiom's intended value estimate rather than independently verified customer savings.

Lumiom's stated focus areas include supply-chain procurement, commercial pricing, predictive maintenance and redesigning processes around AI agents. Lumiom says it uses outcome-based contracts tied to measurable savings, an arrangement intended to connect technical work to financial results and reduce a customer's initial approval risk.

Lumiom describes a connected enterprise intelligence platform that absorbs signals, identifies risks and opportunities, coordinates execution and measures value. Its public materials do not disclose the product architecture, software pricing or how delivery is divided among proprietary technology, systems integration and consulting.

Industrial AI vendors are raising larger rounds around narrower products

Lumiom is entering a market where adjacent industrial AI vendors have announced larger financings around narrower use cases.

Freehand, an AI agent developer, focuses more narrowly on AI agents for supply-chain spend and announced a $75 million financing in July. Maneva, a manufacturing AI company, applies computer vision and video-to-action systems to manufacturing operations and announced a $27 million Series A in June. Neither is a direct one-for-one comparison with Lumiom.

Other adjacent vendors sell into specific industrial functions. Augury focuses on machine reliability and production health through sensors and industrial AI. MaintainX sells maintenance and asset-management software for work orders and frontline operations. Neither is a direct one-for-one comparison with Lumiom, which has positioned itself across several operating and financial workflows.

Lumiom's scope is wider than those individual products. It wants to connect financial, operational and commercial decisions across an enterprise instead of owning one workflow. That gives Chamarthi a larger potential mandate and a harder initial sale. Broad transformation programs require executive sponsorship, access to multiple data systems and agreement over how savings will be calculated.

The financing now underway has brought Lumiom $100,000 from one investor toward its $3 million target. Chamarthi's executive record may help Lumiom secure meetings with large industrial buyers, while the filing leaves the investor's identity, Lumiom's valuation and the SAFE terms undisclosed. The filing shows that $2.9 million remained to be sold as of September 8.
