S&P 500 Futures Decline in Premarket Trading; Roivant Sciences, Bloom Energy Lead
With U.S. stock markets set to open in two hours, Roivant Sciences Ltd. (ROIV) was up 20.3% in pre-market trading, and Bloom Energy Corp. (BE) was up 6.3%.
Oracle Corp. (ORCL), Natera Inc. (NTRA), and Intel Corp. (INTC) were all posting gains of at least 4%. In early trading, Ionis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IONS) and Royalty Pharma PLC (RPRX) had posted declines, falling 10.0% and 8.8%, respectively.
Meanwhile S&P 500 futures were down 0.28%, with futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.76%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures were up 0.62%.
In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were up 1.57%, while gold futures were down 0.69%. Bitcoin fell 1.13% to $78,445.
The 10-Year Treasury yield rose to 4.805%.
In the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow were down 0.38% and 0.51%, respectively. Stocks in Asia were mixed overnight, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index down 1.70% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index up 0.20%.
In afternoon trading, stocks in Europe are down, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.19% and the FTSE 100 Index declining 0.05% from the previous close.
