I got tired of subscription inventory apps, so I built my own self-hosted NFC/barcode tracker (Flutter + Docker/QNAP)

Hi everyone, I wanted a fast, privacy-focused way to track equipment, tools, and inventory using physical NFC tags and QR codes without handing my data over to a third-party SaaS cloud. So, I built an app called GridStorage. A quick note on how it was built: I used AI to help (of course) code this, but I didn't just rely on a lazy one-prompt bot. Because I have a background working with Flutter , I guided the process file-by-file, carefully reviewing and controlling the architecture, state management, and error handling every step of the way. How it's holding up in the real world: I’ve been running the backend container on my QNAP NAS at work for the past 3 months now, and it has genuinely been rock solid for my daily workflow. What it does: 100% Free Local Mode: Works completely offline on your Android device if you don't want to run a server. Self-Hosted Backend: You can deploy the backend via Docker Windows or e.g. QNAP NAS to keep 100% ownership of your data. Platforms: The mobile app is already published on Google Play, and I can also share the web dashboard version if anyone is interested in running the full stack.
