emalliab.wordpress.com" rel="ugc">@emalliab.wordpress.com My understanding of the NMOS Z80 is that all the registers are fully static. The issue is the latches which flip between the main and alternate register sets. Ie the relevant EX and EXX instructions.

I’ve never used tested this - it’s info from the internet.

But sounds like a fun project. I made up a PCB to do the same but I’ve not found time to even assemble it.
