Apple’s Ternus Touts Product Pipeline, ‘Phenomenal’ iPhone Launch in Memo

Apple Inc. Chief Executive Officer John Ternus touted the company’s strong product pipeline and teased a “phenomenal” iPhone launch next week in his first remarks to employees as their new leader.

The CEO, who was previously head of hardware engineering, said that he’s excited about what “lies beyond” the new iPhone release, “including the incredible products already in the works and the ones we haven’t even imagined yet that we’ll dream up and create together.”

He also thanked his predecessor, Tim Cook, for his leadership at Apple and his help during the transition. Cook, who ran Apple for 15 years, is staying on as executive chairman.

Also on Tuesday, Ternus posted on X for the first time, joining Cook and marketing chief Greg Joswiak among Apple executives who are active on the social media platform.

Joswiak said that Ternus would have more to say at the company’s Sept. 9 event. Apple is planning to launch its first foldable iPhone and is readying a push into smart home devices.

Further out, Apple’s road map includes AirPods with cameras, smart glasses, a tabletop robot home device and a touch-screen MacBook, Bloomberg News has reported.

Cook sent his final note to employees as CEO on Monday, telling them that he’ll miss the work but is confident in Ternus’ leadership.
