S&P 500 Futures Drop in Premarket Trading; Praxis Precision Meds, Science Applications Lead

With U.S. stock markets set to open in two hours, Praxis Precision Medicines Inc. (PRAX) was up 15.7% in pre-market trading, and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) was up 8.1%.

Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRT), Boyd Gaming Corp. (BYD), and TE Connectivity PLC (TEL) were all posting gains of at least 4%. In early trading, PG&E Corp. (PCG) and Edison International (EIX) had posted declines, falling 15.2% and 9.5%, respectively.

Meanwhile S&P 500 futures were down 0.16%, with futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.14%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures were up 1.20%.

In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures were up 3.26%, while gold futures were down 0.50%. Bitcoin slipped 0.39% to $78,543.

The 10-Year Treasury yield climbed to 4.724%.

In the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow were down 0.25% and 0.02%, respectively. Stocks in Asia were mixed overnight, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index down 0.14% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index up 0.86%.

In afternoon trading, stocks in Europe are down, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.11% from the previous close.
