Why Ottawa still needs paper, even in the digital age
Another hot, sticky August day in Markham, Ont., pushed temperatures into the upper 20s, with humidity making it feel like 32 C. Inside Sustana’s dusty paper recycling plant, it felt hotter still.
Under the constant hum of skid-steer loaders and forklift backup alarms, discarded paper was squished and punched into bales for shipment to mills that manufacture new paper products.
