Magic Keyboard 2026

Hartley Charlton:

On the new keyboards, the tab, caps lock, shift, return, and delete keycaps are labeled with glyphs rather than edge text. On the full-size models with a numeric keypad, the change goes further, with the home, page up, page down, end, clear, and enter keys also swapping their text labels for symbols. Four models have been updated: the Magic Keyboard, the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, and the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad in both white keys and black keys.

David Deller:

Why, why, WHY won’t they fix the arrow keys? I use the version without numpad (for RSI reasons) and the L/R keys are full height, with half-height up/down keys. This is TERRIBLE and it causes me problems on a daily basis. They fixed this problem with the laptops years ago. But refresh after refresh, they refuse to fix it with the external. WHY?

The left and right arrow keys should be half-height when there’s no numeric keypad, so that you can find them by feeling for the inverted T.

Daniel Luz:

My impression is that they’re limited by the self-imposed problem of making the corners so rounded that they can no longer fit a half-height right arrow key. This is literally the only reason I haven’t bought one! Just return to the previous radius, dammit.
