Updated since its previous iteration in 2025, this re-design uses two typefaces from A2-TYPE, A2 Register* and A2 RGB, for a typographically focused, text-heavy website taking cues from book design. As before, it continues to explore how book design might inform a webpage without amounting to mere imitation.

Register* is the primary typeface and sees use across nearly the entire site. It makes for effortless reading while evoking a bookish feel without necessarily reviving, or drawing overtly from, typeface families traditionally associated with book printing. Register* also lends itself reliably to justified typesetting, paragraph indentation and a conscious choice of using lining rather than old style numerals in the body text. It also works beautifully when set in smaller sizes for footnotes/side notes.

UI elements and some accompanying text are set in RGB, using multiple fluid widths across the site thanks to its variable font. The website’s book-inspired design extends to the ‘leaves’ that slide in from either side, reminiscent of a dust jacket. These use RGB for the menu and buttons.

A typewritten but modern feel for notes left by visitors to this website is achieved using a customised weight of Berkeley Mono.
